Speaker Biography ~

Deborah Lauter is a native Californian who has lived in Atlanta for 15 years, Deborah received an A.B. degree from the University of California, Berkeley and  a J.D. from Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, New York.

After practicing  corporate law in San Francisco, she took time off to raise her four children and became active as a volunteer in the Jewish Community, serving on numerous Boards.   She then re-entered the workforce as  Community Relations Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, where she served for eight years.

Deborah joined the  Southeast staff of the Anti-Defamation League in 1999 and  was named Regional Director in January, 2002. She now  oversees all  ADL activities for the four-state region of Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.  Last year she received the  ADL Milton Senn Award for professional excellence.

The ADL was founded in 1913 and has grown to be one of the nationās premier civil rights/human relations organizations.  Through its network of 28 regional offices, the ADL regularly monitors and exposes hate group and extremist activity in the United States and around the world, and  has been at the forefront of the fight against the troubling new wave of global anti-Semitism.
